Attitude of Gratitude

2020 has been a roller coaster with me losing my grandmother, living through a global pandemic, advancing to the next level in my career, and living on my own for the first time in 28 years. Can you say independent lady lol?! But it has been quite a ride and amazingly I’m still here. With all that I’ve been through, God has truly been there. Especially with the amazing people he’s placed in my life who I can call family or friends, I couldn’t do this without my community. So, I want to give thanks first for my health and the health of my tight knit community I have with me today -- you know who you are and I’m so glad you’re here. Though we all may not be able to interact with our loved ones the way we used to years prior... the love still remains the same. That’s how I feel about my loved ones who are no longer with us physically on this earth, that love and energy never dies.

I would like to give a special thanks to my IAMBWOMAN family who have helped a beautiful melanated vision come to reality. You were chosen because of your grace, style, and originality and I will always be grateful for your work, support, and amazing ideas. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you safe. I love you!

To my amazing sister, thank you for always being loving, patient, and honest with me after all these years. You’ve been my biggest supporter and you are one the biggest maternal/sisterly figures in my life. You keep me disciplined, focused, and you always support all my ambitions. You’re an extraordinary woman, who loves fiercely and never gives up, and you always try to see the good in people. You keep it real and require that same honesty and respect from others and you're a good listener and wise beyond your years. I admire your optimistic energy. This year, and all the years before and after I’ll always be grateful for you.

There’s so many more people that I’ve shared love, life, laughter with and there’s never enough words or time to thank you all. Just know I’m always praying and thinking of you and I want you to live a prosperous life with the mental, emotional, physical, and financial stability you deserve. We all have been guilty getting caught with the humdrum of life, work, etc. But we must take time each day, I recommend first thing in the morning or as you lay in your bed at night to pray for others who strive to experience the blessings you have and for you to remain grateful always. Tomorrow is not promised, I encourage you to step into each new season with love and excitement always. Happy Thanksgiving!
