I Am

I am a black woman

I am more than the color of my skin

See me for what’s beneath

I am a creation of God

I am a woman of faith

I am a woman before I am anything else

I am brave, passionate, loving and caring

I am more than the labels associated with being black

I am loved

I too deserve to be respected and valued

I am bold, God fearing

I am love, it comes from within

I am a queen
